The Flyers traded in their orange jerseys for black in 01-02. But on Halloween night they would wear them one more time to raise money for the 9/11 familys. The jerseys have three patches on the back hem, for the NYPD, FDNY and an American flag.

Jeremy Roenick was wearing this jersey when he scored the biggest goal of his Flyers career. The series-clinching overtime goal vs. Toronto in Game Six of the 2004 Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Flyers would go on the the Conference Finals vs. Tampa only to lose in 7 games.
The Flyers acquired Peter Forsberg on August 3, 2005, and in a salary cap era something had to go. Roenick was sent to the Kings the next day. On November 10, 2007 Roenick would score his 500th career goal only becoming the 3rd American to reach that milestone.
